Please Read This! It
describes what you can, and cannot do with Eric Wadley's artwork.
All the artwork and content on this site (www.archetypal.com) was
created by one person, me. I am the
sole copyright holder for everything you see here. For more
information on copyright laws and how they affect you, click

Okay, now on to the question I'm sure you
are thinking: "Is it okay if I use your artwork on my website?"
The answer is, you can use my artwork on your personal website IF
you follow my 6 simple rules (listed below). If you can't adhere
to each and every one of these rules, but would still like to use my
work, please contact me to find out how to
purchase licensing rights.
DON'T USE MY ARTWORK ON A SITE THAT
MAKES MONEY. Even if your site doesn't generate a profit, you
can't use my artwork on your site if you are making money from anyone
accessing it.
DON'T USE MY ARTWORK ON ANY CLIPART OR
PUBLIC DOMAIN SITE. Basically, if a visitor to your site is
there to pick up clipart, website graphics, mp3s, warez, or anything
else that might be considered "free" to download, then don't use my art.
DON'T LINK TO ANY IMAGES ON THIS
SITE. Its called bandwidth theft and its illegal. I have
to pay for the traffic that comes to this site. When people link
to an image from a forum or website, I have to pay for some of the
traffic to that site as well. My pet Dragon, Rufus, just loves
to feed on bandwidth thieves. Don't make yourself his next meal.
DON'T MODIFY MY ARTWORK IN ANY WAY.
Don't crop it, add any text to it, or make any kind of collage work
from it. If you can't use the image as-is, then don't use it at
all. Only proportional re-sizing of an image is okay (to make it
smaller, for example).
LINK BACK TO MY SITE IF YOU USE MY
WORK. You must place the following text directly underneath the
image itself:
Image © copyright 2003, Eric Wadley.
You can either make the image a link back to my site, or make the
copyright text a link. Please link it to - http://www.archetypal.com
CONTACT ME ONCE YOU POST MY IMAGE.
I like to know where my artwork is being used. I keep track of
it to make sure my artwork isn't being pirated. If I find that
you have followed all the other rules, but failed to contact me, I
will still ask you to take the work down.
I know some of these rules may sound a
bit harsh, but there are very good reasons for each of them. I
want people to be able to enjoy my artwork, but I also want to make
sure you know exactly what you need to do to keep me happy. If
you have any questions regarding any of these rules, please feel free
to contact me. Thank you for taking
the time to read this. I appreciate it!
Regards,
The artist,
Eric Wadley.
